States with Pepper Spray Restrictions.

Michigan - OC pepper spray can be no stronger than a 2% concentrate.  CS is the only tear gas accepted and can be no larger than 35 grams per canister.  No combination sprays allowed. For Michigan approved sprays click here.

Wisconsin - Tear gas is prohibited. By regulation, OC products with a maximum OC concentration of 10% and weight range of oleoresin of capsicum and inert ingredients of 15-60 grams are authorized. This is 1/2 oz. and 2 oz. sprays. The spray can not be camouflaged, and must have a safety feature designed to prevent accidental discharge. The effective range must be between 6 and 20. There are also certain labeling and packaging requirements: must state  cannot sell to anyone under 18 and there must be phone number of the manufacturer on the label. The units must also be sold in sealed tamper-proof packages.

Many states have no restrictions on concealing and carrying mace. Other states may require a permit. Still others may restrict what kind of pepper sprays are allowed, require the holder to carry a permit or take classes, or flat-out prohibit pepper spray. Call your local police station and ask them what self-defense items you can carry. We can ship pepper sprays to almost all states but it's your responsibility to obey your local laws.
